Livin’ Large (1991)

In Livin’ Large, Carson is Dexter Jackson laundry delivery man with dreams of being an anchorman. One day while in traffic, he was listening to his police scanner, there was a report on a hostage situation in progress. He also saw his favorite anchormen Charles Hempstead and Charlie Worthy heading to report on the scene. The hostage situation was carried out by a sniper who killed Charles Hempstead shortly after he coldly rejected Dexter’s demo tape. Dexter seized the opportunity to take over the story. He got an exclusive report with senior as well as de-escalated the situation which saved the lives of the hostages and the sniper on live on camera. At this point his career skyrocketed – at a cost.
